What clients often ask us.

Can't find your answer? Contact us

Can a foreigner buy property in Costa Rica?

Yes. In general, foreigners have the same property rights as Costa Ricans. The main exception is the maritime-terrestrial zone along the coast, which has its own rules; we explain them before you make an offer.

Do I need to be in Costa Rica to buy?

Not necessarily. Many steps can be handled remotely and, when needed, through a power of attorney.

What do you review in due diligence?

The title and its history at the National Registry, the survey plan, zoning, permits, debts, liens and encumbrances. You receive a clear report before you sign.

What costs are involved besides the price?

Transfer taxes, stamp duties, and notarial and registration fees. We give you a detailed estimate before you sign.

Can I obtain residency by investing in a property?

Yes, if your investment reaches the amount required by law for investor residency. We check whether you qualify and prepare your application.

Do you work in English, French, Dutch and German?

Yes, we work with you in English, French, Dutch, German and Spanish.

Is there a fee for the first consultation?

The first conversation comes with no commitment. If you decide to move forward, we send you a fee proposal.
